Dinner with Christopher Dale and chefs Hanis Cavin, Brad Wise and Nick Brune

Corks popped, glasses clinked and a hum of congenial chatter descended as guests gathered at sweet urban hideaway Lot 8 in Mission Valley on Oct 26. There, chef Nick Brune and local food heroes, Hanis Cavin (Carnitas' Snack Shack), and Brad Wise (Trust Restaurant) rustled up six sublime dishes inspired by original tracks by homegrown talent, Christopher Dale.
Was it tasty? Try blissful. Comforting pork belly with apple and fennel; rich and tender duck 'Wellington'; and an uplifting matcha custard with chai sorbet, citrus cake, honey meringue and pistachio (some whispered it may have been the 'best dessert ever') completed our culinary escapades.
